A record breaking number of entries in the Fiesta SportTrophy International (FSTi) series will travel to Scandinavia next week for the 60th edition of the iconic Neste Oil Rally Finland. Eleven Fiesta R2 and three GpN Fiesta ST entries will prepare for one of the most hotly anticipated events on the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) calendar.
The Neste Oil Rally Finland is the eighth round of the WRC and the third round of the FSTi. One of the oldest events on the calendar, Rally Finland is also a firm favourite with drivers and fans alike as it lives up to its fearsome reputation as the fastest rally of the year. The event, which will kick off on Thursday 29 July and will feature a total distance of 1,307 km, will comprise of 19 special stages covering 310 km.

De nieuwe Ford Fiesta R2, voorgesteld aan het Belgische publiek in de Omloop van Vlaanderen en de Condroz Rally, zal dit jaar kleur geven aan het Kampioenschap van België Rally. De Fiesta R2 volgt de Fiesta ST op als cupwagen in de Fiesta SportTrophy Belgium, de nieuwe benaming van de promotieformule van Ford in ons land.
Net zoals in 2009, bestaat de kalender uit vijf wedstrijden. Om iedereen de kans te geven zijn wagen tijdig klaar te stomen, wordt de TAC Rally in Tielt een testwedstrijd, waarbij de infrastructuur van de FST wel aanwezig zal zijn. De FST Belgium 2010 gaat definitief van start met de Rally van Wallonië. Daarna volgen de Sezoens Rally, de Belgium Ypres Rally, de Omloop van Vlaanderen en de Condroz Rally.
In 2010 worden de premies toegekend na elke wedstrijd in de FST Belgium aanzienlijk verhoogd. De winnaar van elke manche ontvangt een premie van 4.000 €!
